Help keep our Arboretum and Public Garden spaces open

A message from Director Kathleen Socolofsky to our community

To our community:

Thank you to those who have supported us by shopping our online plant sale with curbside pickup. So far, the online sale has been very successful! We are especially grateful for all who are shopping, as we lost the revenue of our entire spring plant sale season due to the pandemic. This critical plant sale income directly supports our collections, programs and our students, so please know how much we appreciate everyone who has turned out for this new process.

And don’t worry, you still have time to shop this fall, which is the best time to plant as winter rains will help your plants get well established before our dry summer. We have lots of fantastic plants that need good homes! The online store will be open through November 17, and then we’ll have a members-only Flash Holiday Clearance Sale December 4-8. Remember, plants make great gifts. And speaking of gifts, as part of the clearance sale you will also be able to purchase Arboretum and Public Garden merchandise that is perfect for your friends and family. See more details below.

During this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, we give thanks for all our supporters. As it is for many institutions, this is a time when your support is more indispensable than ever, be it through your plant sale purchases, your membership, your year-end donation or your other gifts. Thank you!

Now and throughout this holiday season, we hope you can continue to find wellness benefits in nature. If you choose to visit the Arboretum and Public Garden, please remember to follow all public health and campus guidelines by wearing a face covering when maintaining 6 feet of distance from others is not possible.

Thank you again, and best wishes!
