Corbertt, Janice Wimmer

Janice Wimmer Corbett

Dedicated by: Her Loving Family

Janice was born on February 23, 1971 in San Pablo, CA to Herb and Christine Wimmer. She lived her life guided by the hallmarks of her upbringing. Her parents taught her to treat others with respect, do the right thing when no one was looking, and most importantly - make the world a better place by working hard, living selflessly and exhibiting integrity and character in all you do. These lessons shaped Janice into the person she became -- the person who served her family, friends, colleagues, and community.

Janice graduated from the University of California at Davis in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Managerial Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. In 2005, she earned a Master of Business Administration with High Honors from Golden Gate University.

She began her career working for the Institute for Fiduciary Education and later for Barclays Global Investors but soon found her way back to UC Davis. During her time as a student there, she had become immersed in campus activities, serving on the Picnic Day Board, Dean’s Student Advisory Committee in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, as well as many others, and it was her dream to someday return to work for the campus she loved.

In 2003, Janice began work for the Cal Aggie Alumni Association (CAAA), starting as the Membership Manager, and rising to Associate Executive Director, with time as Interim Executive Director. Corbett was actively recruited to become the Associated Students of UC Davis (ASUCD) Business Manager in 2013 and graciously accepted the offer; she had the privilege to serve the students and University in that capacity for five years.

In April of 2018, Janice left this earth to go to Heaven after a year-long battle with cancer. This bench, dedicated by her loving family, has been placed in the Arboretum where she walked so many times. May its message to make the world a better place be a symbol of her presence for those who knew her well and still walk the path today and in the future for her young sons, Anthony and Dominic.
