Event Date
Join us for a volunteer day!
Volunteer days are a great way to give back, meet other members of the community who enjoy volunteering and gardening, and experience the therapeutic effects of spending time in nature. No prior gardening experience is needed to participate, and everyone over the age of 18 is welcome regardless of your affiliation with UC Davis.
Event details
We are organizing extra volunteer opportunities this April to celebrate Earth month. Help us care for our campus landscapes and give back to nature! Volunteers at this event will be helping to clear overgrown shrubs in the Desert collection in preparation for an expansion of the collection with new desert adapted plants! This volunteer activity will involve pruning, cutting back, and hauling plant material out of the garden beds. Be part of the transformation of this section of the Arboretum!
Meeting Location
The Arboretum Desert Collection, near the watertower and the entrance to the Facilities yard. There is ample bike parking just west of this location outside of the Earth and Physical Sciences building, and parking on campus is free on the weekends. The closest parking lot to this location is Parking Lot 46.
Other volunteer opportunities
If you wish to volunteer with the Arboretum but feel this event may not be for you, please check out our other volunteer opportunities including our Weed Out Stress! events!
