Detours near Old A Street Bridge

Beginning Monday, July 20, crews will begin the work of adding a mesh wrap to sides and arches of the Old A Street Bridge, located near the east end of the Arboretum Waterway.

The wrap, which will be painted to match the existing bridge color, is a safety precaution designed to catch any debris that may fall from the structure while a decision on whether to retrofit the 101-year-old bridge for seismic safety is made.

Portions of the path near the Old A Street Bridge will be closed, and detours will be in place. Installation of the mesh and the accompanying path closures will start on the north side of the bridge and then shift to the south side before ending Friday, Aug. 7. Learn more below.
