13 Tips for a Successful Plant Sale Experience

About our Plant Sales

Shop the one-acre Arboretum Teaching Nursery to find an incredible selection of attractive, low-water plants perfect for our region. By choosing to shop with us, not only will you bring home beautiful plants that help support a sustainable environment, your purchases play a vital role in supporting the growth and care of our gardens, student environmental leadership opportunities, and free public programs.

Discover the joys of gardening with plants that help heal our environment while nurturing our community! Become a member to receive 10 percent off your purchases at all our sales and so much more.

  • Did you know our plant sales are fundraisers?
  • Our community members support group — the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden — holds plant sale fundraisers offering an incredible selection of attractive, low-water, easy-care plants perfect for our region. These sales, hosted at the Arboretum Teaching Nursery, are large-scale, festival-style events held several times a year. Watch for the latest information here and in our digital e-newsletter, The Leaflet.

Most of the plants we offer at these sales are grown on site, including the Arboretum All-Stars — our top recommended plants for Central Valley gardens. Our nursery staff, in addition to dozens of students and volunteers, propagate and grow the majority of the plants we sell which make them uniquely suited for continuing to thrive in our local climate.

By shopping these sales, you support the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden's environmental leadership programs, the growth of our gardens and collections and the wide variety of free, educational events we offer the public.
