With the Arboretum Teaching Nursery nearly at plant capacity, we finally have a moment to appreciate many of the new pollinator plants we have been growing for you this fall. It was way too easy to come up with a list full of fabulous plants that will look great in your garden, attract one or another pollinator, be drought tolerant, and handle our Sacramento Valley conditions. Cyanobacteria Detected in Arboretum Waterway

Tests show that cyanobacteria are growing in parts of the Arboretum Waterway. These microscopic organisms can make a toxin that is rapidly lethal to dogs that ingest contaminated water.

Exciting things are happening at the Salad Bowl Garden! Researches in Gail Taylor's group at UC Davis are collecting germplasm (seeds or tissue used for breeding) and studying the genetic background of antioxidant contents and resource-use efficiency of watercress.

Students, faculty and staff participate in a tree planting event along the east side of campus as part of the UC-wide Cool Campus Challenge and to support our continued status in Tree Campus USA.
